Sergeant Jonathan J.D. White - Angleton Police Department - Texas

At the age of 51, Sergeant Jonathan David "J.D." White Jr was killed in the line of duty while working for the Angleton Police Department in Texas.

Sergeant J.D. White was struck and killed while escorting a funeral procession.  He was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sergeant White was a dedicated law enforcement officer for the Angleton Police Department for 19 years.  He was known for his unwavering commitment to his community and his fellow officers.

As posted on the Angleton Police Department Facebook page, J.D. was characterized as a man of many passions. He cherished his time spent hunting and fishing, often sharing these joyful activities with his beloved father, David White. J.D. had a passion for flying, classic country and the United States Military. He also had a talent for golfing, and many of his most treasured memories were made on the green. A true Casanova at heart, he had a magnetic charm that endeared him to many, but his most cherished role was that of “Pa Pa” to his grandkids. He was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his newest grandchild, Adeline Kristin White, and his legacy will continue through them. They will forever live their lives in the way he taught them…"You have to be smarter than the thing you’re working with.”

Sergeant Jonathan J.D. White is survived by three children and four grandchildren.

As part of our "Plaques for Heroes" campaign, engraved slate memorial plaques were sent to the Angleton Police Department and to White's family at no cost to honor his service and his sacrifice to the community of Angleton, Texas. Our condolences to his family, his department and the community he served.
